How to Make Copycat Olive Garden Chocolate Lasagna

You can’t go wrong with this crowd-pleaser.  It’s fairly easy to make, and the layers of fudgy brownie, cream cheese filling and chocolate ganache are heavenly.

Let’s dive into what you’ll need and how to bring this dessert masterpiece to life.

Equipment:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Brownie Box Mix (along with its required ingredients: 2 eggs, 3 tbsp water, ½ cup oil)
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 4 cups powdered sugar

Ganache:

  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate

Garnish:

  • Chocolate shavings (or any other garnish of your choice, like chocolate chips!)

Chocolate Lasagna Recipe Instructions

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or the temperature specified on your brownie box mix.

Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions, adding in the additional 2 eggs for that cake-like texture.

Spread the brownie batter evenly into a 9×11 baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the brownie comes out clean.

While the brownies are baking, prepare the sweet vanilla cream cheese frosting by creaming together the soft butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer.

Gradually add in the powdered sugar, blending between intervals, and then mix in the vanilla extract and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy.

Once the brownies are baked and cooled, cut them into three equal vertical sections.

Place the first layer on a sheet of parchment paper. Slather the whole layer with a hearty amount of cream cheese frosting.

Place the next layer on top and add another layer of cream cheese frosting.

Finally add the last layer to the top of the cake and the top layer of cream cheese frosting, then place in the refrigerator.

For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small pot until it begins to boil, then pour it over the semisweet chocolate in a heat-safe bowl. Whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

Drizzle the ganache over the layered chocolate lasagna, and if desired, garnish with chocolate shavings or your preferred toppings.
